ROAD & BRIDGE:
- 781 miles of County maintained roads (including St. Marks and Sopchoppy)
- 241 miles of maintained dirt roads
- 483 miles of Right-of-Way (ROW) mowing
- Prepare roads for paving
- Maintain the County’s roads and ROW by:
- Culvert installation, replacement, and maintenance
- Driveway installation and apron repairs
- Stabilizing road shoulders
- Maintenance of ditches
- ROW mowing and trimming
- Grading County roads
- Make, install, and replace road signs
- Sinkhole repairs
- Tree and limb removal from ROW
- Washout repair
- Road patching and maintenance
- Traffic signal maintenance
- Maintain and coordinate bridge repairs for 24 bridges
- Carcass removal from County maintained roads
FLEET MANAGEMENT:
- Maintenance & repairs on all County vehicles, small equipment, & heavy equipment
- Purchasing and maintaining inventory
- Coordinating warranty repairs with dealers
- Obtaining price quotes for new purchases and repairs
- Prepare specifications for vehicle and equipment purchases
- Oversee County’s fueling system
- Dispense Fuel to 60 County, State, and Federal Departments
- Maintain three dispensers and three tanks – operating 24/7
- Maintain backup power system enabling the County to continue fueling in power outages
- Oversee theft prevention procedures
