ESG’s Leadership Class Provided Volunteer Work at Wakulla River Upper Bridge Boat Ramp

 Upper River Bridge

ESG’s 2017 Leadership Class built a retaining wall at the Wakulla River Upper Bridge Boat Ramp.  The contribution of labor and resources for this project by ESG was voluntary and driven by the company’s desire to give back to a community it proudly serves.  ESG Operations, Inc. provides Wakulla County with operations, maintenance and management services for the public works functions including roads and bridges, water and wastewater, solid waste, and fleet maintenance.

In 2017, ESG launched an exciting employee development program which encompasses an extremely innovative approach to personal and professional development and training for those serving in public-private partnerships. Participants in the inaugural Leadership ESG Class were tasked with choosing a Service Learning Project, and ESG selected Wakulla County as the site for this year’s project.

The Wakulla River Upper Bridge Boat Ramp currently allows motorized vessels to be launched; however, the County plans to renovate this ramp to a non-motorized launch (canoe/kayak). Future renovations will include synthetic matting or turf at the launch area, drainage, parking improvements, and constructing restrooms.

“For over 10 years ESG has had the honor and privilege of serving the citizens and communities of Wakulla County. The 2017 Leadership Class participants (comprised of employees from our projects across the Southeast) were honored to contribute their time and talents to building the retaining wall and participating in the improvements being made to our community. We are grateful for our partnership with the County and look forward to continuing to serve our citizens in the years ahead,” stated Lee Lasseter, ESG/Wakulla Project Manager.
