The Wakulla County Board of County Commissioners is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Human Resource Specialist located in the Employee Support Services section of the Administration Office.  This is a highly responsible, professional position serving as the primary support to the Director of Employee Support Services who is responsible for all facets of human resources, risk management and a variety of other administrative duties.  The incumbent must have the ability to exercise independent judgement and interpret policies and procedures.  Outstanding customer service is an absolute must.
 
Responsibilities will range from placing employment opportunities advertisements to meeting with employees to resolve conflicts; serving as liaison with the Agent of Record for employee benefits; processing insurance claims and working with legal counsel regarding risk management issues. 
 
Minimum qualification include a Bachelor’sDegree and 3 years’ experience of progressively responsible experience in human resources, employee benefits or professional level administrative work or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience; Experience in Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel; excellent written, oral, grammatical and communication skills; knowledge in benefits, compensation and retirement; expertise in the Florida Retirement System, desired; experience required in developing, updating, and maintaining policies and standard operating procedures and guidelines; a comparable amount of training and/or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications; must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver License; SHRM-CP Certification preferred but not required.
